Grizzly bears in the Great Bear Rainforest
The Great Bear Rainforest is a beautiful and remote region along the British Columbia coastline, which is perfect for encountering all types of large wildlife, such as, whales, wolves and of course, as the name suggests bears. Exploring the rivers and inlets you tend to encounter quite a number of Grizzly and black bears stalking the shallows of the rivers to feed upon the salmon that have returned to spawn.
However, a lot of the grizzly diet is actually roots from grasses and plants that can be found in large river meadows, which can be found along the BC coastline. It means for great encounters during the late summer period at low tides, where they forage the river sides and you can safely watch them from small vessels at a distance
