Ended up out on the island today and the house I'm working on is surrounded by speed demons. Sorry the pics are a bit grainy cause I had zoomed in a bit too much but still not a bad capture for a dumbphone.

These guys were flying all over the place like they were possessed by some urgent need to feed before the fall falls and no flowers are left.

They do occasionally take a break. Guess I ought to go back to work and quit looking at the little birdies.

As you can see I got myself a bit of a mess to clean up and I got to get that sagging beam out of there. Kind of hard to be real motivated with all the hummingbirds buzz bombing you and a view like this right behind you.

Yay we made it passed HF20

curious lil' speed demons. haven't seen them in person. lol can't imagine them pestering people.

the water views do look lovely. hope these days are taking care of you ^o^ I wish you well

And a refurbished r9 290 and a refurbished r9 285 coming next week too..... That should get me close to 7500 to 8000 h/s on cryptonight7
I got to get that newegg app off my phone

Lol I keep looking at my wish lists on newegg app. I'm hoping for awesome deals on black Friday or cyber Monday to build a Nas. The other day with all the sales I saw 250$ off for a complete PC build. Still have yet to pull the trigger.

Last week I put in my two 2080s into my personal PC and have it mining away. I also repurposed my dad's old PC for a second mining machine and put in my old cards. I had the day off work today for a CT scan for a cancer check up. Hopefully no reoccurrence, kinda scared with new medication. But while recovering from the contrast I booted up my second miner, got an OS on it and benchmarked all the algorithm on Nicehash. Now it's mining stable. so far I'm getting 0.4 to 0.5 miliBTC a day heh it's going to be a while before I'm done doing payments on the two 2080 cards. And ROI in this market... It's going to be a few years lol Nicehash keeps hoping around to say which also my cards like to use

Man today I learned how fickle risers can be. Just wiggle them slightly and a card will stop working. I reinstalled drivers, did lots of reboots, move the riser to another 1x slot, reseated the card, moved the card to another 16x slot, tried didn't cables and different risers. Took me a while a while to realise the risers are loose and a wiggle is all it needs to throw errors.

Yes. Risers can be a pain. I hope you are giving Xubuntu a try. Sometimes it's easier for me to simply reinstall the OS than it is to deal with trying to figure out what I may or may not have ducked up. All my rigs have SSD's and using a thumb drive with Xubuntu's 18.04 install image on it I can reinstall everything - download drivers and all in about 15 minutes and be back running. I use xmr-stak on Nvidia cards and Clamore's crytonight miner on my AMD cards. The 2 machines running Claymore I run minergate's gui to cpu mine as Claymore is gpu only. Anyways, I'll go days if not weeks and not even touch them. Linux just plain rocks. I'm anxious as all hell to add the 3 cards coming but I'm going to have to wait on the risers coming from China.
....also I've found to make sure you get the ver009 risers with the LED's if you ordered the cheapies. I just ordered a 6-pack for 40 bucks last week so it's gonna be awhile. :(

^o^' I have yet to try a mining specific OS like SMOS or HiveOS or a flavor of Linux for a mining platform. So far I'm tied to Nicehash for the benefit that it automagicly switches mining algos based on profitablity and don't have to worry about mining pools. At the moment they haven't released for Linux but supposedly they're still working on it. Voskcoin and SonOfATech do make those OSes look cool but I think you still have to manage them for which coin to mine. I still want to explore my opinions and figure out how to overclock cards when not using Windows. I hope to delve into other platforms before these coins fork off the asics. Some of my favorite coins to mine directly are in the negative profitablity. T^T Zencash! You were the choosen one to bring me to ROI and not leave me half way. XD

Lol I think using an SSD or usb would be tons better. I'm reusing an old laptop hard drive, 5400rpm boot it and walk away, maybe by the time you get back you'll see the desktop.

So far I've only ordered from MiningCave when I got my frame prebuilt, it came with 9 risers. I'll need a more PSUs and a new Mobo before I can expand again. In time. Fornow I'm hiding my credit cards lol

Thanks. Yeah those guys are on their migration I guess cause they seemed to be everywhere. Cute little guys. They make a chattery high pitched chirping sound like they are burning rubber almost. Yes life is good atm. Work still keeping me busy busy and my mining in going well. I got a deal on a new RX 570 for $145 at newegg, it will be here Tuesday of next week, that will get me up to about 6000 h/s with 15 various video cards and 4 CPU's
4 RX 570's
1 RX 560
7 GTX 750's
3 GTX 650's
Crazy, I wished I had started this about 5 years ago. I've also traded up to holding 4000 xrp's now. Waiting for them to moon.

I didn't really see the birds @spozone. I was drawn in by those beautiful flowers! 😂

Is that a summer house that is being renovated or is someone living there?

No. There are people living there. Good thing they are getting it fixed as it was rotten to the core and then some. The handrail post literally snapped off at the base with very little effort. We got the 26ft long beam put in today and a couple of joist before we left so we're well on our way to getting it finished probably Tuesday next week.
And yes. There is a hummingbird in there.

very nice photos, those birds look huge! the water is just gorgeousi want to jump in! (if its clean) lol

Luckily the waters down here are fairly clean, most of the time. Occasionally we get a bout of red tide which makes your eyes burn and nose drip. The other problems are crabs pinching your buttocks or the once a year hatching of the Portuguese man of war jellyfish. Trust me jumping in the water with a bunch of near microscopic jellyfish in your shorts is not fun - It will set your private parts on fire.... Go ahead laugh.. My nuts, my nuts, my nuts were on fire.. Glad I had a bottle of Windex in my car when that happened. Jelly's are caustic so a weak acid neutralizes the burn.

oh, i'm so glad to hear that! yikes red tide ouch
crabs hahaahh
jellyfish no thank you

I really like that photo of that one bird and the water is oh so beautiful.
great calmness on the water
