Blue eared pheasant!

Hi dear steemians!

This is my entry for contest - #аnimalphotography by @juliank and @photocontests

Today I have a wonderful, one can say royal bird! Blue eared pheasant! I like them very much! beautiful, very inquisitive and attentive, they will not miss the chance to talk) in my case, they were very interested in how I try to take pictures of them!) when they left the aviary, they also went further as soon as they approached, immediately ran to the grid and in no way didn't let me take a picture of myself) but a couple of shots did come out nevertheless!)

In nature, these beauties can be found in central and western parts of China. Their favorite places are mountain slopes and dense thickets. Compared to other birds, they are not so often found near water. They are completely independent of her.

In appearance, the female from the male is difficult to distinguish. Males are usually larger. I really like their color! Feathers seem so lush and soft. They have a black cap on their head, their face is as if red and the most interesting is of course long white tufts of ear feathers. That is why they are called eared)

And look at that tail! Part of the feathers of the same basic color as the body and the white blotches of feathers that stand out directly. In general, the length of their body can reach, in view of the tail, about a meter. Moreover, only one tail is about 50 cm. On average, the male weighs about 2 kg, respectively, the female is up to 1, 7 kg.

This time at the zoo, many birds were pleased with their behavior! Showing itself in all its glory and even how to clean feathers) is amazing, but everyone does it in their own way) Quite a fascinating and interesting process)) It was interesting to see how the pheasant spreads its feathers to get to the right place.

By passing the blue pheasants there are still white, brown and Tibetan. The main difference between blue - this kind of perfectly tolerates cold. Their diet is mainly vegetable food. They feed on various rhizomes, bulbs, young leaves of plants and even love to eat insect larvae.
