The Turtle World.

On weekends my family and I went for a walk to the park. In this park there is a small water-bets and in it we saw turtles. True, they swam far away, but the camera did its job.

Turtles are very ancient animals, they live on the earth for many thousands of years. During this time they almost did not change their appearance. The body of these animals is enclosed in a bone carapace - they say that they "carry their house on themselves". There are several types of turtles. They can be found in salt and fresh water, in the forest and in the desert.

Sea turtles are the largest, up to two meters long. The turtle weighs like a small car; it feeds on algae, fish, jellyfish.

Ground turtles eat vegetarian food. In general, turtles can spend a very long time without food - about a year. This helps them to endure the winter - they dig themselves holes and there are waiting for the heat to come.

Small turtle hatch from eggs. In terrestrial turtles eggs have a white hard shell; in water it is soft and thin, like paper.

Turtles are very good at seeing, even distinguishing colors. They have a wonderful ear, almost like a cat. If you speak kindly with a turtle, she stretches her neck and listens; if to scold - hides in a shell. Very interesting and mysterious animal.http://cterra.com/rasskazy/cherepahi.html
