Calandria grande - Mimus saturninus - Chalk-Browed Mockingbird

Very common and abundant in Mar del Plata, Argentina, it can be seen in the parks and squares of the city and in the countryside. It inhabits diverse environments: mountains, forests, fields, pastures; very well adapted to urban areas. It feeds on small animals such as insects, earthworms and worms, small fruits and also leftovers of food in cities.
It is usually parasitized by the blackened thrush (Molothrus bonariensis).
It measures 25 cm.

• Muy común y abundante en Mar del Plata, Argentina, se la puede ver en los parques y plazas de la ciudad y en el campo. Habita diversos ambientes: montes, bosques, campos, pastizales; muy bien adaptada a áreas urbanas. Se alimenta de pequeños animales como insectos, lombrices y gusanos, pequeños frutos y también de sobras de comida en ciudades. Suele ser parasitada por el tordo renegrido (Molothrus bonariensis). Mide 25 cm.
