Corsac Fox
The Corsacvos is a mammal from the canine family (Canidae). The scientific name of the species was validly published for the first time by Linnaeus in 1768.
The Corsac Fox lives east of the Volga River in a wide area of Central Asia, including Turkestan, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Tibet, Transbaikal and the north of Manchuria. He lives on the steppes and in half-deserts. Agricultural areas, mountains, forests and areas with dense vegetation are avoided. He often uses holes that have been dug by other animals.
The Corsac Fox is slightly smaller than the red fox while the legs and ears are larger. The color is predominantly gray to reddish gray with a silver undertone on the top, while the bottom is white with a yellow undertone. The chin is white and the coat is thick and soft. The big pointed ears are broad at the base. The head-body length is 50-60 cm while the tail is 25-35 cm long. The animal weighs 2.5-3 kg. He has small teeth.
