Little ringed Plovers cleaning feathers and mating

Little ringed Plovers are probably one of my favorite birds and I am alway very happy when I see them. There are several places at the Danube river where I use to take pictures of them usaually near water power plant and during times when the water level is low. Then there is a small Lake here in Upper Austria where I also use to find them. These pictures here were done at this lake. In spring it is the best time to take some pictures like these and I am already looking forward to take some pictures like these very soon. Spring is not so far anymore! And some more pictures like these will probably be on my list once again, but maybe I will get some more different species.

I really need to make a list of species I already took a lot of pictures of and specie I only have a few pictures as well as birds that I couldn't photography till now on concentrate more on the seldom ones but if I do this I don't know if this will increase my chances of finding seldom birds dramatically. Travelling will be one of the keys to get some more pictures of birds that are not so numerous here in Austria or that don't even exist here. But since we have a stupid situation with the Corona Virus I cannot enjoy traveling so much.

The little ringed plovers can be found near rivers and small lakes, but I think they prefer rivers with running and clear water so they are more often seen there. I heard that they often loose their breed because of the tide of several rivers, that is why they usually breed several times a year.
