Animalphotography - Butteflies in our garden

in #animalphotography6 years ago (edited)

Today i was in the garden of my parents and i saw so much butterflies flying around and keep sticking to the violet butterfly tree. So i decided to take my camera and capture some pictures of them. I tried to do some pictures with my 50mm lens but the butterflies where very shy and i nearly never got a sharp and close enough picture of them, so i took the 150-600mm lens and this helped me a lot because i had some meters between me and the objects.

If you dive a little deeper into butterfly photography most of the pictures are made in the morning when the butterflies are still freezed from the cold air in the night. I did all of my pictures during the day wich is much mor difficut because the butterflies try to fly away if you get to close to them, i really need to visit this tree tomorrow morning once again for some other shots. I am very lucky to have this big zoom lens so i don't need to get so close to the butterflies but it should be possible to create some very nice shots with a macro lens just centimeters away from the object. This is my goal for tomorrow morning.
