Dolphins are some of the oceans' cutest animals. They are intelligent and friendly and are a favourite among wildlife watchers.
Here are 10 interesting facts that you may or may not know about DOLPHINS:

There are around 40 species of dolphins.
2.
It is common for dolphins to stay with their mothers for a long time before they leave the pack. Some stay for three or even eight years.
3.
Although Orcas are known as Killer Whales, they actually belong to the oceanic dolphin family.
4.
Dolphins have two stomachs... one for food storage and one for digestion.
5.
To communicate, dolphins use various sounds including clicks, whistles and squeaks.
6.
The average lifespan of dolphins is 17 years, but there are some that can live up to 50 years.
7.
Dolphins are social animals. They live in groups, hunt together and help raise their young ones.
8.
Dolphins can recognize themselves in the mirror.
9.
Captive dolphins have a lower survival rate than dolphins in the wild.
10.
Dolphins are as smart as apes. There is one study that suggests otherwise... you be the judge.
