To get the GIF to appear in the feed all you need to do is re-open and then choose "Copy Link" on the right hand side and then use the section marked "GIF Link" instead.
It should then when pasted show you in Steemit the full preview of the GIF or image.
If it doesn't appear exactly you what you were looking to post in the preview it means the link is no good.
I will paste your successful link down here for now just in case you don't see this to fix the above.
