An "happynimal" new year at the ZooParc de Beauval
At the beginning of the year, we are not only celebrating the beginning of a new year, but also the birthday of our dear and tender @lemouth.

This year, we wanted to change our routine and get out of our house. Direction, the Beauval Zoo near Paris, where we spent 3 days and 2 nights. Finally, we arrived at the end of the first day and left in the early afternoon on day 3. For children, it was more than enough!
What you need to know about Beauval Zoo

Built on 35 hectares, the Beauval Zoo includes about 600 different animal species. It has, among other attractions: a hippopotamus pool, a giant panda couple who saw the happy birth of a baby in August, white tigers, white lions, manatees, koalas and many other species.
The Beauval Zoo is considered the most beautiful Zoo de France, but also in the most beautiful Zoo in Europe and around the world.

... And it's true that the visit was memorable!
What you need to know about our visit ...
The beginning of January is a strange period to visit a Zoo !!! It was not necessary to expect a nice warm and sunny weather! Honestly, we expected cold, wet weather, maybe even snow. We had rain, but more wind than cold and too hot for snow.
In short ... a wet rain at times, a few clearings and especially ... very few people!

Many (not to say a large majority) animals were inside ... in cages that are not very graceful. However, it was to protect them from climatic conditions (muddy and slippery soils, cold, wind) and outside, the enclosures were very nicely landscaped with beautiful spaces to stretch their foot!
Of course, it's not worth their natural environment, but the Beauval Zoo is also very committed to the conservation and preservation of species as well as sustainable development.
The essentials of our visit

Of course, the giant pandas were THE must of our visit! As the mother panda is still with her baby at warm, only dad was visible. But it was active, to our delight!

- For our youngest 2 year old boy: a big kiss through the window with a giraffe and a chase with meerkats around their glass space.

- For the biggest of 6 years and a half: the giant panda, as always, but also the lion and other felines.

- For @lemouth, manatees and arapaimas (just HUGE fish!), as well as white tigers.

- For me, flamingos (except for the smell ...), koalas and okapis.
... And so many more ...
Amazing and informative post, Thanks for sharing @lamouthe
It must have been a lovely, lovely day @lamouthe. Specially if there weren’t many people about :)
Now I am going to look how far this Zoo is from Paris.
Best :)
