***Chameleons are reptiles that generally spend much of their time in trees (arboreal animals). But there is also a type of chameleon that used to live on the ground for example the Brookesia chameleon that used to live on the ground in the forest.chameleons are present in all continents with varied species.
The chameleon is also one of the most famous reptiles especially in the native regions of the African continent and Madagascar, found in several other places in Europe and Asia. There are over 120 species belonging to the chameleon family. The most common chameleon (Chamaeleo) is found in the Mediterranean region. ***
