Richmond Birdwing Butterfly
This butterfly is one of the largest butterfly in Australia. The wingspan is up to 15 cm for females and 13 cm for males. This species is consider vulnerable. Males and females are different in appearance because fremales have either brown or gray wings, while males have black forewing with a distinctive iridescent green fore-edge.
Sapho Longwing
This butterfly main origin is Costa Rica. The caterpillar is very unique in that it only eat the Passion Vine plant and this is a major problem for the species because if the plant goes exist so will the butterfly. This butterfly has seen in population drop in recent years.
Banded Peacock Butterfly/Emerald Swallowtail
This butterfly is part of the swallowtail butterfly familt that can be found in Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and parts of South Asia.
The female must lay it's eggs on the leaves of the Satinwood tree. This butterfly is distinguished due to its color, which either shines fluorescent blue or green. The color will depend on the angle the observer has taken. There are scale on it's interior wings that magnify the color.
Question Mark Butterfly
This is a North American butterfly. The adult butterfly will have a wingspan of 5 to 7.5 cm and can be seen from May to Srptember. It got the question mark name because the silver mark on it's hindwing is broken in to twoparts, a curved line and a dot.
Junonia Coenia
This butterfly belongs to the Nymphalidae family and is mostly found in Southern parts of the United States. The areas where they live has low vegetation. Their feeding pattern is unique because they live on mud fluid and damp sand. This butterfly has white bars on the upper wing surface with visible spots that looks like eyes.
