The Golden Tabby Tiger is an extremely rare colour variation of this exquisite wild cat, called a golden tabby tiger because it has a golden colored line, it is caused by a recessive gene that causes the color of the tiger's stripe to fade.

Golden tabby tiger are also known as strawberry tiger. is simply a different coloured version of the Bengal Tiger subspecies. But, the Golden Tabby Tiger is usually considerably larger than the average Bengal Tiger.

The first golden tiger cub born in captivity was in 1983 and this came from standard-colored Bengal tigers, both of whom carried the recessive genes for both the golden tiger and white colors. It was born at Dr. Josip Marcan's Adriatic Animal Attractions in Deland, Florida.

But unfortunately, with the striking color of this Golden Tabby Tiger will be difficult to live in the wild. Because the color that looks beautiful to humans will make it difficult when camouflage, especially when having to hunt prey and hide from the hunters, therefore most of these tigers will only be found in captivity or the zoo.

And sadly, just thirty of these stunning creatures are known to exist on the planet and there are none left in the wild.
