The main function of a cat's wiskers

Hello steemians friends...

Everyone know that a cat has a wiskers. And of course we are curious about the whiskers and functions of the cat's whiskers.

Cat whiskers have a unique pattern, where between one cat and the other cat is different, like a human fingerprint.

However, whiskers on all cats have the same function as sensory mechanisms.

The main function of a cat's whiskers is to work as an environmental scanning system. Mustache cat very sensitive in detecting small movements of air that vibrate his mustache, so the scientific name for a cat's whiskers is called a 'vibrissae' which implies their sensitivity to vibration in the air currents.

When the whiskers vibrate, the cat interprets this vibrational message to sense the presence, size and shape of objects around it without seeing or touching it.

The cat's whiskers also help protect the eyes, any object that comes into contact with the mustache causes the eyelid to flicker.

Mustache tends to have the same width as the body of a cat, and is used as a seeker, by assessing how vast the place is before it is entered by a cat, it helps the cat to determine the ability of a cat to enter a small space.
