Ok, so here is my rant, because this might be one of the subjects that I find most regrettable about the human experience. People living for tomorrow, when tomorrow might never come.
Yup, it's a shame. You only get a finite amount of time in this world to actually enjoy it. And yet, we have people laboring their entire lives for the possibility of having a great life....later.
Well @#$%^&* later may not exist. Tomorrow might not exist. Also, are we so vain that we must all be supermen and women? Is it so important to have degrees, and mansions, and status symbols everywhere? Who are we all trying to impress? Is life a @#$%^& competition? Does the person with the most money win the life game??? What about slowing down from time to time, enjoying all the great simple things around us?
A person who is poor in money, might be filthy rich in other ways you can't understand. A person can eat super delicious food, have very comfortable living arrangements, and truly enjoy their pass times, all on a very limited budget. A life can be fulfilling in so many ways that can not be monetized. You could make art, and friends, and good will around you. You can be a kind person, and derive satisfaction and joy in doing so. You can enjoy so many underappreciated things, all while having a balance of work and play.
Toiling all of your young life, so that you MIGHT have a super life when you are older, this doesn't make any sense. Lightning could strike you, a small meteorite can fall on your head, an earthquake could happen tomorrow. Your future could be wiped out at any moment...
Fucking enjoy your lives while you still can, and to hell with being superman. You don't have to impress anyone. It would be a much greater shame if you never get to have any fun before you are gone from this earth.

I'm not saying to not improve yourself, or to excel in what you love. Please do. But do so because you love it, and not to be some revered superperson.
You can spend your whole life preparing for the future, living in a perpetual cycle of overachieving, so that you MIGHT be happier later...
But what if there is no later?
Enjoy it now, while you can.
