Jerusalem artichoke anaphylaxis
From my own experience the ingestion of Jerusalem artichokes is not recommended.
About two hours after eating I noticed an angioedema of my top lip (left hand side) with the feeling like someone smacked me in the mouth.
It lasted about three hours and then subsided, lucky I didn’t eat more.
Another rather unpleasant and embarrassing effect was flatulence.
