Lamborghini unveils the world fastest SUV a 200 000 vechile that could reach speeds of about 190 miles an hour.

The Lamborghini Urus is a visionary approach based on the infusion of Lamborghini DNA into the most versatile vehicle, the SUV,” says Stefano Domenicali, Automobili Lamborghini Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

“The Urus elevates the SUV to a level not previously possible, the Super SUV. It is a true Lamborghini in terms of design, performance, driving dynamics and emotion as well as drivable every day in a range of environments.”

“The Urus fits perfectly within the Lamborghini family as a high performance car. It is the culmination of intensive development and passionate skill to create a new breed of bull: a Super SUV that transcends the boundaries of expectations and opens the door to new possibilities, for both our brand and our customers.”

Here is everything you need to know about the new car:

Power and performance

Powering the Urus is a 4.0-litre V8 twin-turbo engine which delivers 650bhp and 850Nm of torque.

This allows it to go from 0-62mph in 3.6 seconds and 0-124 mph in 12.8 seconds and open to a top speed of 189 mph.

The engine is paired with an automatic eight-speed gearbox and the car is also setup with all-wheel drive and torque vectoring.

A plethora of driving modes tune the car to optimise performance in various different environments.

These are: STRADA, TERRA (off-road) and NEVE (snow), SABBIA (sand), SPORT and CORSA.

Footage from one of the teasers that the Italian car manufacturer revealed last month shows the SUVs proficiency in challenging off-road conditions.

A range of level of safety, security and driving assistance systems have also been added to the car which includes High Beam Assistant.

Urus has low-line coupe styling and an overall dominant and muscular appearance due to the larger, but still sporty, proportions of the SUV.

It takes certain styling cues from the LM002, in terms of the car’s road presence, but its appearance also looks informed by some of the car manufacturer’s super sports cars such as the Countach and Aventador.

The giant front fender, large air intakes and low-level front spoiler don’t just give it a unique and powerful design but also improved aerodynamic efficiency.

With the engine at the front it also allows for a sizeable 600-litre boot space, which is not a spec you’d usually associate with a Lamborghini.

Inside the car there is enough room for five passengers is both sporty and luxurious.

Lamborghini says that the interior was inspired by the principe that “a car’s design, power and dynamic capabilities means every driver should feel like a pilot.”

The slim Y-design of the dashboard and hexagonal design elements on features such as the air vents echo the exterior design.

In the front of the car, the seat are made with a DNA memory sport seats are fully electric, heated and 12-way adjustable.

Each car comes with the Lamborghini Infotainment System (LIS), which controls the car set-up, media, telephone and navigation. This is controlled by the two screens on the dashboard.

The upper screen is the key interface for entertainment, managing functions such as media, navigation, telephone and car status information. The lower screen provides a keyboard and hand-writing-compatible screen for inputting information and controlling functions such as climate control and seat heating.

Smartphones can also be integrated into the infotainment system through the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a Bang & Olufsen Sound System with 3D sound and 1,700 watt output can be specified.

Prices for the Urus SUV start at £131,500 in the UK.
