What is Anarcho-Capitalism?

in #ancap5 years ago

Anarcho-capitalism is a current of philosophical and economic thought whose ultimate goal is the resolution of conflicts.
Conflicts are nothing more than disputes over scarce goods. After all, it is not possible for two people to make different decisions about what to do with the same item without starting a dispute, and since material goods are scarce, not everyone can hold other copies of the same item.
The only possible way to resolve disputes of this kind without generating a new conflict is through the concept of private property, because in determining who owns an object, any and all disputes about it are closed.
Hence, anarcho-capitalism is also known as anarchism of private property.

The concept of self-ownership:

All people are born with an inherent property, their own body, and that is what the concept of self-ownership refers to.
When an individual refuses to recognize his or her self-ownership, in doing so he is falling into contradiction because the very action of expressing himself is already proof that he has control over his body, an action that proves itself your self-ownership.

There is no other way of making decisions about the body of another person without the use of persuasion (thus requiring the authorization of the person who holds the self-ownership over that body) or through the use of physical violence or coercion (both being two forms of violence - direct and indirect).
It is from the fact that self-ownership is inherent in all people and is undeniable without falling into contradiction, that anarcho-capitalist ethics are based on deriving all its natural laws.

Natural Laws x Positive Laws:

Starting from the concept of self-ownership we can derive clear and objective rules aiming at a peaceful and timeless coexistence in society, these are called natural laws.
Natural laws, as its name suggests, arise naturally through the consequences of the relations between two or more persons, and they are discovered (rather than created) through the process of derivations, known as argumentative ethics.
Anarcho-capitalism is grounded in argumentative ethics, private property and governed by natural laws. Here are some examples of derivations of natural laws below:

  • Private property is inviolable;
  • Legitimate defense exists as long as it is used with the least amount of force necessary to prevent the onset of a new aggression;
  • Everyone has unrestricted liberty over his property, provided that he does not restrict freedom over the property of others;

Natural laws are the only ethically acceptable

Ah yes, I had even forgotten, there is still the State...
In addition to the natural laws, there is still the model used today for the formulation of state laws called positive laws.
Positive laws are arbitrarily created by people, elected or not democratically, following their own moral concepts and enforced through the monopoly of force.
Unlike natural laws, positive laws vary from state to state and constantly change, after all, they are not based on an ethics inherent in all, but on morality, which varies from person to person.
From this we can already affirm that:

  • Any and all violations of freedom of ownership of others are unethical;
  • The very existence of the State is in itself anti-ethical, since it is an institution that does not respect private property;
  • Natural laws are the only ethically valid laws, as they already exist and are only discovered through derivations of the law of private property, contrary to the positive laws that are created by some people arbitrarily to be followed by all the others.

Taxation is theft!

Taxation is theft and the state is a criminal organization that exists only to steal us!

Taxation is a form of collection that States do coercively on their citizens. If someone refuses to pay, they will lose their freedom, if they resist, they may be beaten and if they continue to resist, they may eventually be killed.
Even if you have enough money to use only available private services and give up state services, there is still a requirement on state law to pay taxes.

Taxation is theft and the state is a gang

Thus, the State ensures its maintenance by parasitizing the gains on the private property of others.
No matter what excuse one uses, tax will always continue to be theft!
If a thief steals you and uses as an argument that you will invest in something that will benefit in the future this action ceases to be theft?
Or if it robs you and uses it as a justification that will help the poor or benevolent institutions, is it no longer a robbery?
Or steal, but just a little, is not it more robbery?
So why would not that be true for the state that coerces people to pay them part of their dividends?

I understood ... But then what is the alternative?

Absolute respect for private property, the end of the state, the management of all services (formerly state) led by private initiative, free market and decentralization of power.

Just because the state is a parasitic and anti-ethical organization would be enough reason to abolish it, but it is still possible to argue that the market without state control, without the monopolies and restrictions imposed through the use of force is much more efficient in finding solutions to problems than the state.
This is because as rulers worry about remaining in power through the manipulation of their constituency, producers and traders are worried about providing better and cheaper products to face competition. As states try to force people to consume or stop consuming certain products and services, the market tries to fit their real needs.
Anarcho-capitalism is the only possible ethical system and private property is the only law capable of resolving disputes without generating new conflicts.

This was a well-summarized synthesis of what Anarcho-capitalism is.
