RE: Abolitionist Abstractions Vlog 22: The haters only make me stronger
First rule of stealth camping is to not tell anyone at the marina you are sleeping in your car. No one would tell security if they didn't know you were staying there. At night you have to pretty much stay in your Element except to take the dog for per and poop bresks. I would have driven to another place away from where you are sleeping just in case security or a cop drives up while you are outside. Stealth camping means don't let anyone see you. Did the security cop knock on your window or see you outside? I wouldn't arrive at a stealth spot until I was ready to sleep so no one sees you. Also security might drive by every night and got suspicious seeing the same vehicle every night.
Today I snuck a shower at a county park campground. Played 20 hours of poker yesterday 7:30 am to 4:am the next morning. Pretty much non stop except for bathroom breaks and to get some food. I ate at the table. Profited $1003. Not bad for a days work doing something I love.
I'm pretty sure they were tipped off. Spent a bunch of nights down there and saw security almost every time, but they never bothered me until the other night. I had been staying in the vehicle and only stepping out to let Murder Dog do her business one last time. Just seems a bit too convenient that I was told something about permits but none of the other cars parked there overnight had them. I have a number of haters, so it's likely that it was one of them who placed a call.
Found a new spot alrrady, though, at least for during the week. Actually ran into another van nomad there this morning. We hung out for a bit and exchanged numbers, and hopefully I can get him to record something with me soon.
