"Security" is a Synonym for "Servitude"

brazil-spying

There has been this erroneous discussion taking place that there should be a balance between security and liberty.

This implies that some liberty should be sacrificed in order for everyone to have security.

But this idea is preposterous from the start.

If your civil liberties and freedoms are impinged on, do you actually have security anyway? Wouldn't your security be undermined by the people who are spying on you, watching you, and creating laws meant to tame you and make you docile?

Security is a Myth

With this in consideration, we can now see clearly that security is a myth. No one is ever guaranteed security, and they certainly aren't being secured by the people making those claims. Matter of fact, the people who are supposed to do the protecting are actually some of the most vile people on this planet.

In this sense, I would prefer to have NO SECURITY, because that seems a helluva lot more secure than having violent and power-hungry individuals create laws under the delusional notion of providing me with safety.

I think I am much more fit to provide my own safety than entrusting a small group of government functionaries with the ultimate power and tools to oversee my life. All of this seems patently obvious. When will people realize the irony in believing that security can be granted in this manner?

"Security" is a synonym for "Servitude"; The Height of Stockholm Syndrome

"Security" is just a mealy-mouthed bit of rhetoric in order to subdue people and persuade them to give up their freedoms without a fight.

"Security" is just a synonym for "servitude." If you make the claim that government should provide security at the expense of liberty, you are saying you are okay with having a slave master who pretends to protect you.

If anything represents the height of Stockholm syndrome, it's this conversation about security versus liberty.

It's nonsense.

In this Instance, Benjamin Franklin was correct:

“Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”― Benjamin Franklin

excellent view thank you very much

Thank you, friend.

The level of credibility people give to their feelings, even in the face of contrary evidence, is the only reason that the security scam works. Unfortunately, it's very difficult for people to divorce their actions from their feelings, and so, it works very well.
