Government Fail in Belize and pretty much everywhere else but you notice it more in a poor, small country run by idiots

When drug cartels donate helicopters and aircraft to corrupt Belizean Govt but no one cares

Belize - murder capital - per capita - but Keystone cops useless except to collect and deliver donated cartel choppers to the military.

Sitting here this morning in Belize with no water pressure.

Power outages are common.

Belize Govt couldn't organise a screw in a brothel or a piss-up in a pub.

A system of anarchy with community cooperation would work much better. The local Seine Bight community are arranging a 5km run to fund a local museum. Well organised and run by the local women. The local men here just seem to sit around smoking crack or drinking the crap Belikin beer all day.

There are no libraries or museums of note here. A lot of neglected Mayan ruins. We are waiting for our shipping container to arrive from Australia with our books and musical instruments and at this time the corrupt Belizean Government will try and charge us thousands of dollars for import duties. I won't be paying it. They can't provide reliable water services and power outages are common because their grid infrastructure is inefficiently shared/managed with the superior economy of Mexico.

Belize is a great example of how Governments simply do not work anymore. It will always be a backward country while a system of corruption and profound stupidity is rife in their government. When we got our car registered - I felt as though we had travelled back in time to the 1950s - these fat bureaucrats were sitting in their air-conditioned offices surrounded by titty pictures while they "stamped" our papers. No computers and no clue. The dude came out and checked if the headlights of our Jeep worked. All government offices here are shut for lunch - everywhere in the country.

Okay, you may legitimately ask why did we move here in the first place? We did know the stats on crime and we live in a marginal area (but we sleep with a machete under our bed). This is a good place to be a crypto nomad - rent and fresh food is cheap. Imported goods are expensive. We don't need to live a highly material life. We will likely be here one to two years at most.

I can see us moving to Mexico or possibly Liberland (where there is an volunteerist society being developed by intelligent, anarchists who are devising actual infrastructure just waiting upon recognition by the international community - see Wikipedia article below:

"Liberland, officially the Free Republic of Liberland, is a micronation claiming an uninhabited parcel of disputed land on the western bank of the Danube, between Croatia and Serbia. It was proclaimed on 13 April 2015 by Czech right-libertarian politician and activist Vít Jedlička.[3][8][self-published source]

The official website of Liberland states that the nation was created due to the ongoing Croatia–Serbia border dispute,[9][10][11] in which some areas to the east of Danube are claimed by both Serbia and Croatia, while some areas to the west, including the area of Liberland, are considered part of Serbia by Croatia, but Serbia does not claim them.

The land in question is 7 km² (2.7 sq mi) wide, or roughly the size of Gibraltar, and has been administered by Croatia since the Croatian War of Independence.[12] There has been no diplomatic recognition of Liberland by any country from the United Nations, although it has established relations with unrecognized Somaliland." (Source: Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberland)

And Government in Australia is crappy for different reasons, too numerous to mention here, for example, the Sydney train system (Australia) - or as I like to call it the largest sheltered workshop in the Southern Hemisphere (which is an insult to the disabled and totally non-PC) - in a major metropolitan capital city. And as Anarchast commentator Jeff Berwick says "Australia started as a penal colony, and it still is". He is spot on.

Obviously the number one problem is government full stop! Everywhere! But a poor developing country like Belize strives to be a 'real' country... by giving speeches at united nations, signs up to trendy UN no plastic charters but with no resources or skills to make it happen... the issues is trying to be a 'full service' government (trying to be like USA, UK or Australia etc) but with no resources or get up and go to enforce or do anything about it... It would be sooo much better if Belizian schools and society taught self reliance, pioneering spirit and a can do mentality... parasitic government would not even get a foothold... as individuals and communities had effective self sufficiency a joke government trying to be like UK would become totally irrelevant....
