Statist Irony

When people say things like "If it weren't for the state, Jim Crow laws would still exist and gay people could not get married." Im like "Errrr..who do you think made those laws in the first place?" O.o

It blows my mind that people cannot see the irony in statements like this. Government was not created to free you. It was not created to provide law and order. It was created to provide fear, force, and calamity. Realize this and accept ownership over yourself. No aspect of your life should be mandated, regulated, or coerced.

An institution that makes certain human rights illegal and then decides to "grant" them after you've begged and pleaded enough is not benevolent.
