I stopped using the phrase 'special interest' many years ago as it is clearly a term that has no clear definition and is used to manipulate people in every instance. I am uninterested in any discussion with the term involved.

Agreed. I tune out completely if that word is used. I feel the same way about anyone spouting info from "think tanks".
