How to Build Freedom Island - Part 1
Let's face it guys. True freedom is a rare thing these days. Where can you go when you don't believe in taxes, licenses, registrations? How can you experience true freedom when all the land on Earth is already taken?
Answer: Build your own island nation.
Last night I had an idea that kept me awake all night. I kept thinking... "What if we created our own floating island nation? A beautiful island free from taxes, licenses and registrations.
Earth's surface is about 71% water. There's a lot of area that can be developed today with our current technology. What if we combined the "Tiny House" movement with the "Seasteading" concept? We could call it "Freedom Island" or "Bitcoin Island" or "Isle of Liberty" or Whatever!
Imagine hundreds of tiny houses could be connected together by modular platforms floating on the ocean.
Island growth would be organic in that platforms would be arriving and leaving all the time. This would create millions of possible configurations.
As more and more hex platforms join, the island would become more stable.
Freedom Island could float all around the world as a shining beacon of Freedom where people would be free to build any kind of business they can dream up! I've been wanting to build a casino for years but can't due to government regulations!!
For people that hate taxes, licenses, registrations, or any other form of government Tyranny, this could be utopia!! A utopia to build whatever you want, buy whatever you want, do whatever you want. It would be kind of a "Galt's Gulch" on the water.
The Perfect Storm
How can it possibly withstand hurricane forces?
The hexagon mesh is the answer. Imagine the strength of hundreds of aluminum hexagons linked together like medieval chainmail.
The hexagon mesh design is great on stormy seas allowing the whole island structure to flex dramatically.
Assembly: The hexagon platforms could be towed into position by tug boats and anchored with standard boat anchors.
Each identically-sized aluminum hexagon platform would be a self-contained pontoon house boat that could attach or detach itself at will. Each side of all the hexagon platforms would need to be a standard size (50 feet).
My Idea
Here's a rough sketch of my aluminum pontoon hexagon platform idea.
Electricity
Wind and Solar power could be utilized for electricity.
Food
Fishing and Hydroponic Farming could handle the job.
Water
Rain collection and steam water distillers
Options
There are a million ways to build a tiny house! Just look at some of these wacky tiny house ideas!!
A tiny house costs about $60,000 USD to build... and each hexagon pontoon platform would probably cost about $5,000 USD to build. So the total cost would be around $65,000 to get some real freedom.
My 1st business would probably be to build a company that builds the hexagon platforms... and tugs them into position at sea.

These are great for a lake but an ocean gets very rough and unforgiving.
good idea, but outside country waters, means very far from land. That way, I don't think that a protection against hurricane is so simple. it would need to ask an expert of aerodynamic of oceans and winds. I think there is already this kind of project from some libertarian of silicon valley, but it must cost many millions dollars.

Here's an alternate
Spar Bouy concept. Some Oil Platforms are made this way.
RedNeckversion would be to use stacked 55 gallon barrels mounted to a swivel (truck axel?)
Build it on land. Tow it to where you want it. Flood the barrels. (except the last one, it's full of concrete). When the spar rotates under the platform, pin it in place, then pump air into the flooded barrels. (one after the other top down first) The added flotation will raise the platform above the water, waves will pass under.
