Walls? Where we're going we don't need walls
I'm really looking forward to Donald Trump's big wall.
The proceeds from the war on drugs, (lots of cash held just South of the wall), will indirectly fund the research and development of hoverboard technology.

People and drugs want to go North, couriers and cash want to go South.
Make hoverboards the easiest way to do so, and you end up with a big, competitive market for hoverboards; driving up the quality and pushing down the price. Before long, all government walls become decorative, including the ones around prisons.
That's what the state does. It spends massive amounts of our money, to build ugly monstrosities we don't want, which will never achieve their stated goal and are redundant before they're finished (or before they're even started in this case) and as always, the market provides the answer.
Have a fantastic day
The law of unintended consequences. :)
