Anarchy: Yay or Nay?

in #anarchy8 years ago

Most people's idea of an anarchist society is one of raiding and looting and fires and protests, but that's not what I'm talking about. What instead I'm referring to is a society without a government. That simple.

What I mean is, only having people put on trial when they have wronged another person (exceptions for say, adultery) and a prison system that rehabilitates instead of punishes.

However, there is one problem: taxes. Should we keep the obligation of taxes but keep it to a minimum? Say, 5-10% income tax for every employed citizen, regardless of how much they make?

Personally, I believe there should be an experiment in anarchy, to test the waters, take a shot at a different life. However, the likelihood of this is slim to nil, as most governments are truly just for power, and want their monopoly on it to go unchallenged. But let me know your opinion. Thanks for reading.
