When to say “NO.”

As hardworking individuals all around the world scramble to figure out how they will pay their taxes this year,

due to new regulations, basically worldwide, on cryptocurrencies, a few of us are left scratching our heads.

Wasn’t this shit CREATED TO AVOID this type of violent bullshit red tape/regulation!?

A huge part of the reason that cryptocurrencies in general have skyrocketed in value over the last few years is that they are—in stark contrast to the “fiat” money and systems—actually economically sound!

What’s mine is mine and yours is yours. “Middlemen” be damned.

People who think other people should not be allowed to handle and manage their own money and resources, and should be taxed (read: “made to pay for things under threat of violence”), are not human beings to be trusted, in my opinion.

Would you trust a friend who forced you at gunpoint to support his kid’s fundraiser?

To build a new library for him?

To pay for his wife’s abortion?

Fuck that. No, you wouldn’t.

TAXES ARE NO DIFFERENT. JUST LESS DIRECT.
That friend is a milksop of a man now and is not comfortable directly mugging you, but is totally fine with men called “police” or “IRS agents” forcefully violating you to steal the money and pay for what he wants. What a fucking useless bitch. Pardon my “French,” but this gets me fired up.

When to say “no.”

Before talking about when it is time for you as an individual to say “no” to immoral mandates and dictates from the state, I’d like to start by sharing a few responses I left on other people’s posts discussing the topic:

Crypto, in a very real sense, was created to stop violence, and to disempower the state and its corrupt financial institutions:

...we can win a major battle in the arms race and gain a new territory of freedom for several years.
Governments are good at cutting off the heads of a centrally controlled networks like Napster, but pure P2P networks like Gnutella and Tor seem to be holding their own.

~Satoshi Nakamoto, Bitcoin P2P e-cash paper

The root problem with conventional currency is all the trust that's required to make it work. The central bank must be trusted not to debase the currency, but the history of fiat currencies is full of breaches of that trust. Banks must be trusted to hold our money and transfer it electronically, but they lend it out in waves of credit bubbles with barely a fraction in reserve. We have to trust them with our privacy, trust them not to let identity thieves drain our accounts.

~Satoshi Nakamoto, “Bitcoin open source implementation of P2P currency”

The following quote is from the Crypto Anarchist Manifesto written in 1988:

”The State will of course try to slow or halt the spread of this technology, citing national security concerns, use of the technology by drug dealers and tax evaders, and fears of societal disintegration. Many of these concerns will be valid; crypto anarchy will allow national secrets to be trade freely and will allow illicit and stolen materials to be traded. An anonymous computerized market will even make possible abhorrent markets for assassinations and extortion. Various criminal and foreign elements will be active users of CryptoNet. But this will not halt the spread of crypto anarchy.

Just as the technology of printing altered and reduced the power of medieval guilds and the social power structure, so too will cryptologic methods fundamentally alter the nature of corporations and of government interference in economic transactions. Combined with emerging information markets, crypto anarchy will create a liquid market for any and all material which can be put into words and pictures. And just as a seemingly minor invention like barbed wire made possible the fencing-off of vast ranches and farms, thus altering forever the concepts of land and property rights in the frontier West, so too will the seemingly minor discovery out of an arcane branch of mathematics come to be the wire clippers which dismantle the barbed wire around intellectual property.

Arise, you have nothing to lose but your barbed wire fences!”

So when will you say “no,” to your money being stolen, and the fruits of your hours and hours of endless hard work being frittered away by an “elite” class of child rapists, brutalizers, murderers, and thieves?

The line in the sand is different for everyone. It’s not for me to draw it for anyone but myself. One must be smart. Sometimes keeping the wolves away requires throwing them some meat, here and there, much in the same way you give a mugger your cash to avoid being shot.

Sometimes there are other ways. Those of you with extensive crypto knowledge know this. Clandestine methods exist.

The fact remains. We are in the right. The Nazis were also “legal” in their day. The Jews being persecuted “criminal.”

When, if ever, will you say “NO.” ?

(That was all a joke, now go pay your taxes.)

Sort:

They'll never get a penny out of me mate. NEVER!
I have nearly all my wealth in property I own, gold, silver and crypto.
Yes they steal from my wages on a monthly basis before I even get them but as soon as I quit the job paradigm in the next 2years that's me finished getting 'farmed' by these scumbags.
So many people I know when I'm ranting at parties etc say stupid shit like....
"You have to pay taxes, they're for everyone's benefit" or...
"Without taxes there'd be no money to fund the government."

Like that would be a bad thing you dumbed down morons! Arrggh..

Geez mate, they've got the sheeple so well trained quite often they rat each other out for not paying taxes, it's pathetic!
It's time to start deprogramming them Graham.

Amen, brother.

On cryptos - pay taxes? - no never - how the hell would they know so long as you stick to exchanging between cryptos and don't use banks?

I'm not worried about this but I wouldn't leave a trail or use zionist controlled cryptos like Bitcoin or Ripple, even here in New Zealand where there are no capital gains taxes.

Great post! I'm going use to this:

People who think other people should not be allowed to handle and manage their own money and resources, and should be taxed (read: “made to pay for things under threat of violence”), are not human beings to be trusted, in my opinion.
to try persuade friends into thinking about decentralized currency.

This is crucial. Now that crypto has entered the mainstream awareness and all of our statist friends are starting to ask us how to invest... we should take that as the golden opportunity it is to sow the seeds of anarchy in their minds. Crypto is not only the tool that can disrupt the state and central banks. It's also the tool that can help regular people understand voluntaryism and see the need for that disruption. Once these folks have something big and exciting that they watched grow, and the government tries to take it away, I bet they'll be much more open and interested in withdrawing consent.

I'm deleting my comments.
Being down voted by Content censoring whales sucks
and hurts minnows who only earn 0.01 per post/comment anyhow
This whale BS will kill STEEM imho

Right!
We should ask: If cigarette taxes exist to stop people from smoking, what is the income tax supposed to do?

@kafkanarchy84 Tax a tool to enable the absurd lifestyles of people in power. Seeing how far cryptos have gone in terms of reward to its adopters, government will use the excuse of cleaning up the bad elements in the crypto-verse so they can join in the party and disrupt everything . Private coins might turn out to be a great option in the long run.

Hopefully the safe havens appear soon. The exchanges are a real weak spot in the anonymity problem. Maybe soon they will be made better too.

Very powerful post- I’m worried about the way crypto will be affected by the federal governments all around the globe over the next couple years. I feel like things are gonna change and soon. I live in America and have the feeling that a storm is brewing.

Really informative, tactful post- thanks!

Even with just an announcement of possible regulation, they could damage the crypto markets.. Makes me sick. I wish they'd just leave me alone lol.

True that...

There is so much good here in the blockchain community.- would hate to see it all fall apart
