No, I don’t need a leader, nor am I “America.”

Nope. Not a fuckin’ chance.

Nor does any other thinking anarchist. Nor do we need a top-down, centralized land redistribution program called a “land lottery” which violates individual self-ownership by forcing individual property owners and communities to acquiesce to a centralized “libertarian” plan regarding how they may or may not use their local property and resources. Nor do I need a “leader” dismissive of fellow libertarian individuals asking questions about the “change-the-mafia-from-the-inside” plan.

From the Kokesh for “not president” website:

The only authority that I will retain will be to replace Custodians if they are unable to complete their responsibilities or are not faithfully executing the plan. Some agencies will be very easy to do away with, like those that perform only regulatory functions like the Department of Education, or those that perform illegitimate functions, like the IRS. Some departments, like Justice, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Interior, need to be handled carefully and in some ways transferred to state governments. National Parks will be preserved as private non-profits with broad ownership that will be open to the public.

Custodians? Wait a minute. Does “custodian” mean “individual property owner”? Because if it doesn’t, and your “custodians” are enacting plans to redistribute property they don’t own and don’t live nearby in a community of individual property owners, then no, thanks.

The potential abolition of the above alphabet agencies and groups makes my mouth water, it really does. The problem is:

  1. The mafia doesn’t elect people who are out to end the mafia (the elections are rigged, anyway. One simply needs to read about the “Electoral College” or international banking cartels like the US Federal Reserve).

  2. The plan for land redistribution Adam has talked about numerous times on his videos and livestreams is centralized, where he and his “selected team” decide who should and should not receive which property from afar in Washington. This is not a voluntaryist plan. Let property owners in local communities decide. Voluntaryism is individual-up, not top-down.

Finally, regarding the recent arrest.

I hate to say it, and will probably catch shit for even asking from many loyal Kokesh fans (of which I used to be a big one, and still am, in a few respects) but can anyone prove that the recent police kidnapping of Kokesh that his account is talking about non-stop on here (even releasing one photo, two sentence post updates on his dog) is because he is running for president? The whole thing reeks of publicity stunt to me. Not that the arrest was fake, just that is is being totally exploited as a money grab here on Steemit.

The “celebritarian” crowd always seems to re-emerge when the Steem price re-emerges.

Summary:

  • Anarchists don’t need self-appointed leaders eager to “change the mafia from the inside.”

  • Government-mandated, centralized, national land redistribution plans created by a small group of “leaders” (I can’t believe I even need to say this) require the initiation of force and are antithetical to anarchism and the self-ownership axiom.

It could easily be said that:

”Adam has done more for freedom than you ever have!”

That is probably right, I guess. Still, I feel the urge to use my freedom to say something here.

When self-labeled anarchists get all doe-eyed about a persona, and forget about individual self-ownership, I get a little nervous.

This “notforpresident” run may yield some great things for the cause of liberty. Individuals may wake up because of Adam’s message. I certainly hope so!!! He won’t be president. He himself has said similar things about the near impossibility of it, and that the whole running thing may just be more of a way to wake people up.

You know, sort of like a publicity stunt.

Just a fair warning to the Voluntaryists out there. It could be said that Kokesh is doing great thing, in the sense of letting people hear about certain libertarian ideas, but no, you don’t “need a leader.” What a bunch of horse shit. That whole sentiment is more dangerous to freedom than any I know of.

Increase your capacity as an individual.

(I would like to add a very important note. I support Kokesh in any and all attempts and bold moves he is making to “spread the gospel” of individual self-ownership/voluntaryism. I think I would be amiss to not call out certain red flags I think I see, and hope that my fellow liberty-minded individuals would do the same. This in no way is to be construed as me wishing Kokesh ill in any manner, or siding with the police! I’m just siding with libertarians not getting fleeced, and using their funds for their own lives, charities, and intiatives, and not to support a centralized, government land redistribution program and impossible presidential “run.” That said, maybe I am missing something. If so, I hope it will be pointed out to me.)

Sort:

The “celebritarian” crowd always seems to re-emerge when the Steem price re-emerges.

Too right mate, it'll be interesting to see if they disappear like magic if the price crashes again.
The lack of interaction with the community that support them here is disappointing, many don't bother voting up comments or even responding which IMO is disrespectful and just rude.

Agreed. The market knows those that are invested.

Yep, got fed up with the constant "updates" and requests for bail money so I unfollowed him day before yesterday. Don't like his attitude anyway...

Yep. I agree. Glad I'm not the only one.

it's a little distracting how he waves his arms around when he talks.

I grapple with the same dilemma that you laid out in this post. Adam is doing great things to move toward an awakening (hate that word) of the masses. I love his enthusiasm and his drive. I want to support him but can I compromise the true values of what i believe. Is it affective to get a 50% anarchist platform through quickly rather than wait for the 100% result. I won't cast judgment on him, but I will be there to point out inconsistency.

Adam was one of my biggest "heroes" (when I used to foolishly idolize this or that human) but yeah, it all became a bit too "cult of personality" for me at some point. When I personally questioned him about his land redistribution ideas on one of his livestreams he brushed me off, in my view, saying:

If you have a better idea then step up to the plate.

He missed the whole point of my concern, which was not a hatred for anyone like himself trying to change things, or about a "master plan" of my own, but about the principle of individual self-ownership and how his proposed solution would violate it. After this dismissal I began to count him out of the ones to really be taken too seriously. It's at least partially a kind of money-making celeb show, if you ask me (and there's nothing necessarily wrong with that! I just have better shit to do with my money!!! :))

Anyway, I appreciate your level-headed assessment, and as I said in the post, wish Adam no ill will, but nor do I wish for those who are just coming out of their statist shell to jump on board with another type of blind collectivism, namely, the worship of this or that "celebritarian." If you've talked to some of the Kokesh-ites out there, you'll know what I mean.

To his defense, I hear he slaughtered Stef Molyneux in a recent borders debate.

Thanks for the comment, @jordanmccraw.

I love the "celebritarian" comment title! Brilliant!!

I am noticing there are definitely a few of them out there... In defense of Stef Molyneux I would have to say Adam was beating a dead horse as Stef commited suicide on principles by becoming a MAGA trump fanatic lol. I will rule it no contest in a principled debate with no winner declared lol.

I know you are he grass-roots with a few others. Much respect (not worship to fellow humans) @kafkanarchy84.

Haha. True.

"Not that the arrest was fake, just that is is being totally exploited as a money grab here on Steemit."
I'm glad you said it.

Thanks. Probably not a popular thing to say, but fuck it.

I don't understand why so many anarchists out there concern themselves with celebritarians, anyway. Okay, if someone makes a great podcast or writes an awesome blog or is contributing some other cool project to anarchist thought, sure, follow them and listen to what they have to say. But the ones who just travel around repeating the same anarchist platitudes, over and over again? What's in it for the seasoned anarchist?

Thanks for this comment. Really well said. I agree. I don't mind the repetition of the same old platitudes over and over (I never get tired of talking about individual self-ownership) but you're right, those of us who know about this stuff are already doing our own thing, and so there’s not much in it for us as far as personal growth. And the sensationalization of it all for the newbies strikes me as suspicious a lot of times.

I think we anarchists should give our bullshit detectors a workout when it comes to fame-seeking, in-group pundits.

The day people realise they don't need their backsides wiping is the day we might experience some true freedom. We have a long way to go, I see it with people in the so called 'truth movement' too. They still put others on a pedestal or are looking for a guru. Just need to keep putting articles like this out t try and get through to people. Thanks for sharing, retseemed.

Yes. Well said. Thanks. I’ve had many “gurus” in my time here already and have had to throw them all in the trash. I have to stay on guard, too. Easy to want to be led when things are scary.

Thanks for the resteem.

Your picture reminded me such of this picture.

By the way, I'm from Croatia... And we had a guy who was also political activist who was fighting against banks, evictions ( not sure if it's the right word... basically kicking people out of their homes because of debt ), and corrupted politicans.

People are slowly starting to trust him and his political party.

He got into our Parliament and he's doing on hell of job.

Media was against him from the beginning, but he made it.

Mostly because of Facebook... He has like 230k followers on Facebook and his party is now supported by 13% of Croatians.

Hopefully, things can change in both of our countries.

Yet the parliament you speak of is still based on violent force, is it not?

Either way, if you now have more freedom, I am happy for you, my brother!

Love the picture.

I agree with your blog..

Thanks. Which part do you agree with?

So nice dear keep it up and Have a nice day
