What I can appreciate about the post is that it eschews sophomoric reasoning in favor of a legitimate argument. Many on both sides of the debate lean too heavily on meaningless chestnuts and soundbites that do nothing to advance dialogue.
He was concerned that he might lose friends over it but he actually gained some AND had some nice discussions with some people who are usually "anti gun"
