An Analogy

Setting: The antebellum South, ancient Rome, Biblical Egypt, or any other relevant cultural context with some form of explicit chattel slavery.

Slave A: "Slavery is wrong."

Slave B: "Well, do you eat the food the master provides, or wear the clothing he gives you, or live in his huts? Are you suggesting crops shouldn't be planted, tended, or harvested? If you don't want to be whipped, why can't you just do what you're told? Why don't you run away if you object so much? Our society was built on slavery, so why do you hate society?"

Slave A: "You completely dodged my point."

Slave B: "Well, you didn't answer my questions, so I win!"

Me: Government is wrong.
