RE: Governments co-opting crypto is bad news for Liberty-Minded people - Looking at Dutch gov. blockchain experiments

in #anarchy7 years ago

Governments are mining too without a doubt. Why wouldn't they be? They have "free" electricity and tons of computing power. I don't think the government, the banksters, will give up so easily. This is going to be a nasty fight.

What happens if governments halt all exchange between crypto and fiat? What if they make it so there's no way to cash out? What would the price of crypto go to at that point? Up or down? I strongly suggest WAY down. Your opinion?

I think it'll go way down, too, if that's the case. Many people are into crypto because of the capital gains. An option would then be to trade crypto for precious metals, for example.

Adopting crypto will also help governments to get us cashless.

if there will be no option to exchange fiat for crypto, the value of crypto will no longer be calculated to fiat...it will not go down...new ecosystem will emerge...at least i think

Touché. At least we know that the future of crypto will be very interesting.

The only thing we actually know about it:D
