Most people believe we will spread humanity throughout the galaxy and beyond but there is a theory that we might instead look inward, first starting with VR worlds and ending with what know as a black hole.
That is true but I think parallel universes is a bit too much science fiction for now. 400 years from now isn't that far off but if we are talking about 4000 years from now, I would agree with you more.
