So true, but what worries me is that no matter whom you vote for, the end result is always the same - a new dictator. So how do we change this process and get off the hamster wheel?
Stop voting and wake up to the fact that you can rule yourself.
Any violent overthrow will just lead to the installation of a new tyrant. Any political process will just lead to the installation of a new tyrant. This will always be the case so long as enough people believe that they need masters.

Not necessarily. Suppose a technology arises that allows people to shield their wealth from taxation. (I'm looking at you, crypto-tech!) Even if an individual believes masters are needed, he probably won't voluntarily fund them if tech makes taxes effectively voluntary.

I agree. So why is it that we throw off the yoke of oppression only to become complacent yet again, and thus start the whole process over once more. At what point do we as a people transcend our own foolishness?
