I worked as a controller for a big public institution. You won't believe how much space is empty and how much awesome furniture etc is just rotting. It's vast and it's a shame both financially (-> tax payers fund that) and socially (-> could be used). I always advocated for using stuff, or at least renting or selling it so someone can make something out of it. But: Not interested. They just don't get how much they put to waste and that's why, although I don't like it by principle, I am actually ok with most of these house occupying stuff. At least they are doing something with it.^^
