Misunderstanding Liberty
What really blows me away, is that the masses here in the United States still believe that this is the "Sweet Land of Liberty". Oh sure, we can vote, we can express our opinions, and we can do other things that resemble the life-style of freedom. In reality though, our leashes are only just long enough so that we have the illusion of liberty.
In the world of politics, our masters ensure that we only have two bad choices at each election. We can speak out all we want, just as long as what we say doesn't endanger out masters' grasp on power. If we go too far in criticizing our masters, as the Bundys and Hammonds did out west, you can be sure that our masters will step in and do something about it. Really, after observing recent events with the western ranchers, how can any rational person say that we still have liberty in this country?
To make things worse, most people in this country don't even understand what liberty is. In its essence, liberty simply means that we are all free to live as we please, as long as we do no harm to anyone else. But for folk on the "right" side of things, liberty means using the force of government to cram their views and their morals down our throats. Folk on the left counter this by using the force of government to also cram their views down everyone else's throats. (Yes, it works both ways.)
I agree with the recent post that Larken Rose made, in which he states that we need to quit discussing politics, and start discussing ideas, instead. Sadly though, it would seem that the vast majority of U.S. citizens believe that a totally meaningless Presidential election is the most important thing in the world. The big question is, how can we reach the masses so that we can change that?
I fear that the time when we must relive what the founding fathers went through is not too far off...

I read this post and I have no idea what you are talking about. You say we are allowed to express our opinions and can do 'other things' that are similar to the lifestyle of freedom.
Tell me why you think we are enslaved. What are some actions you cannot take that you could take if you were truly free.
Are you free to pursue your own economic interests without government interference?
Are you free to keep your entire paycheck?
Do you pay property taxes? (If so, you're merely renting your home from the government.)
Have you not paid attention to the number of incidents in which police kill innocent civilians?
Have you not paid attention to what's going on with the western ranchers?
Have you heard of "asset forfeiture", in which the police can seize your money just because they suspect that you might have committed a crime?
Break away from the mainstream news media, and pay closer attention to what's really going on in these United States. Then, you'll have a better understanding of what I'm talking about.
But what you guys want is absolutely fucking insane! Your thing is like, well, we'll get rid of the government and then everyone will just blow each other and when something does go wrong we'll stop blowing each other and we'll set up a voluntary group to fix it. And we'll pay those people withprivate donations.
Again I say, look at what the government is doing to us, and then explain how it is that you believe that liberty exists in this country.
You're an example of why things in this country will likely never get fixed. You, like most other U.S. citizens, have been so brainwashed that you're no longer capable of seeing the obvious, and you're no longer capable of doing any kind of critical thinking.
