Thanks for this post, i totally agree we waste too much time in the office!
I have just coming to the end of a 6 month sabbatical and it was the best decision i could have made. It has been so nice to have the space and the time to be creative. I am due to go back next month and negotiating reduced time back. So nice to hear it has been successful for you.

Wish you all the best for your negotiation. My advise: be persistent. It may not work the first time you ask, but the second or third.
