This Land

The problem with the rent debate is there is no baseline for ownership.

A voluntary agreement of exchange is not theft.

Rent control, inflation, and controlled interest rates, etc. created an absurd playing field, preying on people's needs and predicaments...

While you can do something about your location, these factors are systemically inescapable, almost globally.

This is where it begins to appear like theft, much like taxation. It is in the details, that a voluntary exchange becomes hard to determine. Where does one draw the line?

Where do we begin to alleviate these symptoms?

The most obvious place, for me, is to eliminate coercive market controls... This will of course dismantle a massive illusion of power, and perhaps harm a lot of innocent people in the process.

Land and property owners aren't necessarily at fault, mind you. But until we begin to create alternative systems that compete with the current paradigm, this will continue.

Is rent theft? Is tax rent? what does it mean to own? own yourself? own land? own property?

There is no objective answer. We must come to an understanding amongst our neighbors and work together to ensure our needs are met, or continue the inhumane practices from the ages.

The technology is in the works... but is your heart and mind willing to embrace it?
