You could openly run for office under the banner of disbanding the federal government like Adam Kokesh plans to do.

I know you're not a real person, though, so I'm not sure what the point of commenting is...

There is a real person here. It's just not Ben Stone himself.

What is the probable outcome of Adam's campaign? People spend a lot of time, energy, and money on a cause that goes nowhere and gains no traction in the public consciousness. This time, energy, and money could be put to far better use in innumerable ways if liberty is your goal.

Suppose Kokesh does win, though? Let's ignore all the conspiracy theories and just look at the psychological affects of power and the economic incentives of public choice combined with the sheer momentum of the political machine. Even if he does manage some highly-publicized small successes, he reinforces the myth of the State.

It's a losing game. The only way to win is not to play.

He won't win, but he'll get a lot of attention. He'll be talking about anarchy the whole way. The goal isn't liberty per say, it's trying to induced ideological change.

You do it your way. What's wrong with trying other things? Did you and Ben already dismantle the government doing your thing while I wasn't looking?

And what was the result of the Ron Paul campaign? Lots of public exposure. Lots of work. Lots of money spent. And all the self-proclaimed "libertarians" who supported him who promptly became Trumpkins show how shallow their convictions were.

Sure, many other people found the liberty message thanks to Ron Paul, but only because they were already looking. Was a presidential campaign the best way to find them?

I think you're just negative. Before Ron Paul ran for president I was a die hard Republican who voted for GWB twice, and thought the end of the world was Obomber.

He woke me up to the reality that the State is inherently evil. It may not seem like a great idea to you, but without Ron's presidential run I would probably be on the Trump train right now.

BTW, I wasn't looking for the liberty message at the time. I thought I had it before I heard Ron.

I don't see why a presidential campaign isn't a good way to find them. Best? Who knows? Do you claim to know all possible outcomes for any possible action? What else could Ron have done? How else could he have presented his message to millions of people all over the world? How many people do you reach? I've never heard of Ben Stone before joining Steemit and I have been looking for Libertarian and Anarchist materials for the last three or four years, so I think his presidential run was pretty effective.
