Unfortunately, "the people" will never "wake up", at least not as a collective. The Washington sewer will not be cleansed by a spiritual or political revolution, but by economics. Somewhere down the line their evil system will be taken off life support because it will have exhausted all its artificial methods of survival.
That will be a scary day, but also a joyous one!
Don't worry too much about politics. The easiest way to starve government is to use cryptocurrency. Once the money moves away from government control, their power will diminish. Live a minimalist lifestyle, and then buy and hodl your bitcoins!
But what if.. the powers that be created cryptocurrency to have even more control :)
