Does Scarlette need a gun?
This is Scarlette.
In light of your limited knowledge of Scarlette, does she need a gun?
If she had one, would you try to take it from her?
You might feel insufficiently informed to make that decision or take that action, but if you favour gun control, then you've already answered, 'No, she doesn't', and should have said, 'Yes, I would'.
She is familiar with her circumstances and capabilities, while you are not; so when you boldly declare that she should be disarmed, you're claiming that your wisdom and insight on the world in general, filtered through zero knowledge of Scarlette, is superior to her wisdom and insight on the world in general viewed through her intimate knowledge of her personal circumstances. It isn't.
Its easy to ask the police to impose your values on a large group; but far more confronting to personally, directly threaten to attack a complete stranger, about whom you know nothing, for having a thing you don't like.
The former is the latter, with all of the arrogance but none of the bravery.
I would say yes, if she wants a gun and is educated in gun safety then she should be able to have a gun and carry it when and where she would like. I am a Texan :)

I would not attempt to take away her right to vote, her right to speak, her right to practice a religion of her choosing nor her right to life.
Why would anyone want to take her right to defend herself?
What is a right to vote? You have the right to speak, you do not have the right to impose your will upon others. Voting is akin to rape.
