HENRY IV

Hello dearest friends, I am Henry iv, the renaissance dude who is imbued with a humble mien and I take profound delight in synchronizing the mysteries of the classical times with contemporary nuggets about the human civilization. The wisdom of the past serves has a guiding light to surviving the vagaries of the modern day contemporary times.

Every age or time in our modern history is birthed with some genius of some sort with certain hidden or let me say tragic flaws. For example, William Shakespeare, the Bard of Avon was suspected to be a homosexual, Charles Dickens who churned-out classical literary works such as Oliver Twist, A Tale of Two Cities e.t.c suffered from chronic depression all through his life yet he wrote successful novels indicting the leaders of the Victorian age for their failure to address the plight of the poor, Frederick Nietschet wrote about the death of morals yet he incurred the wrath of the public when he affirmed the God is dead in his The Genealogy of Morality, Socrates lived an eccentric lifestyle by being a recluse yet he churned-out philosophical treatise outlived his times.

Dearest readers,it is my humble view that the key to living a meaningful existence in this contemporary age rattled with conflicting emotions is by "being far from the maddening crowd" by defying the status quo ante or conventions. King Arthur, the Legend of Camelot ruled his conquered empires with the sage advise of his specially trained Knights, Plato, the protege of Socrates invented the concept of Philosopher King as the best remedy for governing a city-state defying the mob rule concept of democracy by the Athenians.

A story is told of how the reformer statesman of Singapore, Lin Quan Yiu wanted to rid the cities of Singapore of rats, he came-up with a policy of the government paying the citizenry certain monetary rewards based on the quantity of rats the citizen was able to catch. Guess what? the havens of rats became deserted as the rats fleed for their safety. Sir Winston Churchill of Britain was perpetually drunk with Whiskey and Brandy at the crucial period of World War II, General George Patton was a good marksman famous for barking orders on his troupes during World War II.

Folks the secrets of modernity lies in being your true self by defying conventions, making mistakes and never making the mistake of viewing your eccentricity or foibles as a strange anathema but seeing it as the key to your Genius. After all , the pioneering head of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation, John Edgar Hoover was not only gifted busting major crimes on United States soil but imbued with the gift of having vital statistics of major crimes on his finger tips. He never needed any briefing file whenever he went to brief the United States President yet he was a homosexual.
