AMZN stock price is now $ 1,447

I once owned 100 shares of Amazon.com but sold all before the dot com Bubble burst in 2000. At the time I thought I was very lucky to get out in time.

I bought and sold a few shares since 2001. Always afraid of another Bubble. Sometimes I sold for a loss ????

When Amazon first went public in 1997, its stock was priced at just $18 per share.

From that modest beginning, the online retail giant has seen its stock skyrocket, despite a rocky period during the dot-com crash. In fact, if you had invested just $100 in Amazon's IPO, that investment would have been worth nearly $75,000 by close March 29 2018 not adjusted for reinvested dividends.

Amazon peaked around $86 in 1999 then fell as low as $ 7 in 2001 before climbing back to $ 89 in 2007 then fell again to $42 in 2008 .... since 2008 it has soared from $42 to $1,616

Not easy to HOdl when it drops $100 every few months though.

If you had bought 1,000 shares of Amazon.com in September 2001 for $7.....

That $ 7,000 investment would now be worth $ 1,447,000.
