Amazon Puts Workers in Chains
Amazon has patented new wristbands to know exactly where their workers are at every minute of the day Not as bad as inserting a chip into your skin, but we’re giving to the oligarchical big brother the rope to hang ourselves. The big brother bracelets even vibrate to direct an employee which way to walk for the next order. Why don’t they just build WALL-E for god’s sake and stop humiliating the common blue collar laborer.
Just another layer of surveillance to inspect, note, track, and quantify our every breath and heartbeat. It’s getting as bad as the ideas of Frederik Taylor for strict automation and the alienation of workers in the late 19th Century, and Frank Norris was documenting the abusive working environments of the monopolists, before the Progressive Era stood up for worker’s rights, safety, and dignity.
Workers will soon be penalized for errors on inventory bins on shelves, time taken to pack a delivery box and delays proceeding to next assignment. All they are lacking are robotic lackeys whisking around barking out orders to inspire even more stress and anguish. No telling how these will influence the already 1,000s of workplace accidents and incidences reported by Amazon worker's montly.
The ultrasonic tracking in the wristbands can even identify precise location of worker’s hands as they grab items. Haptic feedback systems vibrate against the wearer’s skin to point their hand in correct direction. Maybe they will even add those electric shock collars that dogs wear next? Might as well, it’s getting pretty clear who Amazon is treating like animals.

Have no fear this will be short-lived.
In the not too distant future, Amazon will replace said workers with robots and software. Amazon is one of the leading companies in patent filings to move into the automated age.
Give them a couple years and most of the workers they hired the last 18 months will be replaced.

This is deeply disturbing behaviour from Amazon. I am very worried for the wellbeing of our future. I know there are a lot of ways this has no gruesome backlash where we lose all but we only need one shadowy tyrannical psychopath taking power to have a big problem.
