Amazing Nature Contest - February 2020 - # 01 - The Amazing Colors of Nature.
@adalger is taking its Amazing Nature contest to another level with its new DNA community. Today my dear nature-loving friends, like me, I bring you the colors of flowers. The flowers (for men who do not know) are the weakness of women, if a man gives roses to a woman, be it his wife, his girlfriend, his sister, his mother, etc., this woman will melt immediately Seeing the bouquet of flowers.
But did you know how flowers get the variety of colors?
If you are thinking (as I thought) that it is for Chlorophyll, then let me tell you no. Chlorophyll only gives the green color to the leaves and some stems. There are two other substances in the plant that give the flowers amazing color. 1 is the Xanthophyll that gives them the colors from yellow to maroon or brown red.
The second is the Anthocyanin that gives the range of blue, purple and lilac colors. There is also the hereditary issue, if the plant is yellow it will give yellow daughters. The theme of the soil, the PH and the chemicals we use greatly influence the intensity of the color of the flowers.
Can I change the color of a flower?
The amount of colors in the flowers is wide but there is always the possibility that a certain type of plant requires a specific color. Florists often change the color of a flower by adding vegetable dye, which is used in paint the frosting on a cake, to change the color of a mainly white flower. The method is to apply the amount of vegetable dye in a glass vase with water, then enter the amount of flowers that you want to change the color for 12 hours. The flower stalks will bsorb this water with color until the flower is completely dyed.
A very beautiful curiosity with flowers is that each color has a meaning. Yellow means friendship, passion red, white purity, violet love at first sight, mystery blue. This was the idea of King Charles II of England and to this day this custom has been maintained.
