Today I did not have enough time. But I found interesting information about the "wildness" of our time. Today I decided to tell about cannibalism these days. For me, this is savagery and abnormal behavior. Therefore, I was shocked when I learned that in our time there are tribes of cannibals. I will tell about them today.

For normal and civilized people cannibalism is a terrible fairy tale. But in some southern regions of the planet you can still meet people for whom the human is a normal part of the diet.

Indonesia

Perhaps the most cannibal-dangerous place on Earth is the jungle of the Indonesian part of the island of New Guinea (Irian Jaya) and the island of Kalimantan (Borneo). The jungle of the latter inhabits 7-8 million dayaks, famous skull hunters and cannibals. The most delicious parts of the body are the head (tongue, cheeks, skin from the chin, extracted through the nasal cavity or the auricle of the brain), meat from the hips and calves, the heart, palms. The Dayak people are the initiators of crowded campaigns behind skulls.

At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, the Indonesian government tried to organize the colonization of the interior regions of the island by civilized people from Java and Madura. The unhappy peasant settlers and soldiers guarding them were cut and eaten. This is the last significant outbreak of cannibalism in Borneo.

The initiators of the campaigns for skulls in the Dayak are women

A great contribution to the elimination of cannibalism on the islands of southeast Asia was made by Sukarno, the "father of Indonesian independence", and the military dictator Suharto. But they also failed to improve the situation in Irian Jaya (western part of New Guinea). The Papuan ethnic groups living there (dugum-tribute, kapauku, marind-anim, asmat, etc.), according to the missionaries, are not averse to eating people and are distinguished by unprecedented cruelty. Especially they like a liver with herbs. However, the penises, noses, tongues, meat from the thighs, too, will come down.

But it's all on the western side of the island. And what about the eastern part? In the independent state of Papua New Guinea, the incidence of cannibalism is much less than in Irian Jaya. Cannibals in this region can still be found on the islands of New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands. If you are tired of taking risks, then safe places are Australia and New Zealand (although there is the Cannibal Bay). There cannibalism is worn out by the end of the XIX century.

Africa

The cases of cannibalism in Africa are mainly related to the activities of organizations such as Leopards and Alligators. Up to the 80's, in the vicinity of Sierra Leone, Liberia and Cote d'Ivoire found the remains of people. "Leopards" are usually dressed in the skins of leopards and armed with their fangs. Both "Leopards" and "Alligators" believe that eating people makes them faster and stronger.

Movement is still common in Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Benin, Togo, South Africa, local tribes sometimes practice eating human flesh for ritual purposes. The Mau-Mau movement in Kenya (1950-60's) stands apart, covering up its sectarian, frankly cannibalistic essence with ultranationalist, anti-European political slogans.

India

The history of human sacrifice is very long in India. What is the most curious, the heyday of the culture of sacrifice? At the same time, eating victims was common only in the north-east and south of India. Residents of the northeastern state of Assam, until the beginning of the 20th century, sacrificed annual sacrifices to the mother goddess Kali: the boiled lungs were eaten by yogis, and the aristocracy was content with rice cooked in human blood. Ritual cannibalism for the glory of the Earth God Tari Penn was developed in the gondes - a large South Indian people.

Still in the south of India there is still a sect of the Aghori, which has been spun from Virashivaism. A few thousand people for ritual purposes in the form of decomposed corpses of people from the Ganges, as well as corpses of domestic animals, the remains of burnt corpses. Do not disdain and alive - some especially want to be eaten.

At the end of such a "positive" article is to say:"Take care of yourself and your loved ones."And choose carefully where you are going to travel.**
