Recently, I decided that I should document a record of my research regarding new low marketcap altcoins. Disclaimer: This research does not reflect my investments, and I'm not recommending any sort of investment either.

Signatum ($SIGT)

I came across this coin while browsing the announcements page on Bitcointalk.org. This one particularly caught my eye because on the page it is explicity stated that there is no premining, no ICO, and a fair launch. It was also interesting to note that after 100,000 blocks have been mined the coin switches from proof-of-work to proof-of-stake consensus mechanisms. Signatum's tagline Your crypto identity shows its positioning as a privacy-centric coin, it seems to be in a very early stage currently as there is no whitepaper, team listing, or any sort of major news regarding the coin. Therefore an investment in this coin would be a highly speculative move.

Open source algorithm and code

Thankfully, there is a Github repository which includes more details regarding the coin and its algorithm. A link from the GitHub repository points to a page that has more details regarding the coin and how to set up its miner for NVIDIA or AMD graphics processors you can view that link here.

Potential growth

Personally I think should Signatum get into more exchanges the price of the coin should rise, but the lack of a proper team page, whitepaper, Reddit community are a few red flags to watch out for. Since this is a brand new coin these things will probably fixed down the line. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one though.
