The Great HODL Challenge Of January 2018
I recently watched a video from AltCoin Buzz about doing a month long hodl challenge and thought it would be a lot of fun to test out.
So my good friend Rich Taylor and I sat down yesterday and banged out a quick list of 5 coins that intrigued us and laid out a plan to hold these coins for an entire month.
No selling.
No trading.
We bought these coins to hold for the month of January and to see where we would be at day 31!
The idea behind this is to bring awareness to the importance of holding onto your crypto for newbies (like us lol) Instead of getting into the trading game and selling on emotion. Hold and keep holding :)
So we budgeted around $100 USD each and bought the following coins.
20 coins of Substratum (SUB)
40 coins of Stellar (XLM)
250 coins of FunFair (FUN)
5 coins of SONM (SNM)
10 coins of Bread (BRD)
These were coins that interested us and that we didn't hold in our other portfolios. We wanted to be guinea pigs and see what would happen! Hey if you are going to experiment, why not do it on yourself right?
The total ended up being $101.10 on January 1st, 2018.....Let's see where we get to in a month!
I'll be keeping our stats up to date and creating posts here on Steemit and dTube throughout the experiment!

Since I have been in crypto for all of two weeks, every opportunity to learn more is important. This should prove to be an interesting experiment.
