First government backed Crypto ? Australian Government Grants $8 Million for Blockchain Energy Pilot (POWR Token)

I think this is the first government backed crypto. Power Ledger (POWR) is all about using the blockchain technology to be used in smart electricity grids with renewable energy.

"The funding will see a grant of AU$2.57 million go directly to the project, which will be set up in the City of Fremantle. A futher AU$5.68 million will be provided via project partners including blockchain firm Power Ledger."
