Who is more profitable in Altcoins, daily traders vs long term traders

I am altcoin traders from last 1 year. i used to trade both, long term and short term. I hold some strong coins for long term. I remember SC which i bought at 150 and then sold at 700 after 2 month. I almost got 400% profit from that coin. But i also remember few coins like DGB which i bought at 1700 and now its price is 460. I lost almost 70% from this trade in 2 months.
I am also used to trade for short term, like for 1 or 2 days. Some time even for few hours, when news are released and earned 20 to 30% per trade.
What i analyzed is that, short term trades are more profitable wen you trade at news (like beta releasing, wallet updation etc) and use stop loss. This will prevent your trades from holding too long and earn you good daily profit.
